Things To Come (1936) - this classic of science fiction cinema is based on H.G. Wells' novel The Shape Of Things To Come (1933).
The later utopian 'Everytown' sequence features a sleekly futuristic gyro-craft (with three rotor blades) that flies a crew of astronauts from
the underground city to a gigantic space gun launchpad. Except for silent film, High
Treason, this British production, directed by William Cameron Menzies, has one of the earliest fictional depictions of a helicopter design.
