High Treason (1929) - an early British sci-fi drama from the silent era, this pacifist story was directed by Maurice Elvey. The film includes
prophetic scenes - featuring a tunnel under the English Channel, the terrorist bombing of a Euro-tunnel train, and it also shows helicopter machines
flying over London and landing on rooftops.
This is probably the very first instance of a 'helicopter' in the movies! These screen captures, of a model helicopter on the miniature set, are
taken from Matthew Sweet's excellent documentary Silent Britain (BBC, 2006).
