The Cat From Outer Space (1978)
- in this Disney sci-fi adventure, a ruthless billionaire uses a Sud-Aviation SA-341B Gazelle during the climax to escape. The helicopter is
involved in a lengthy and impressive aerial pursuit with a bi-plane flown by the magical powers of the titular feline, and the Gazelle crashes
after a misfired flare pistol wielded by a stupid henchman somehow damages the flight controls.
Curiously, the villain and his men survive by parachuting from the Gazelle, one of the few times I've seen people parachute from a helicopter.
The Gazelle in this film was also used in The Gauntlet, and it's flown by stunt pilot James Gavin. - BILL HIERS
